Platinum Wedding Band

Although platinum appeared on the earth around 2 billion years ago, it had long been little known by the general public. It was not until the XVI century that it was discovered by the conquistadors who called it “platina” which means little silver in Spanish. This white metal is highly coveted in the jewelry world today.  It was actually brought into the limelight when the famous singer Elvis Presley and his wife Priscilla exchanged platinum wedding bands when they married in 1967. Since then platinum has become popular with couples who increasingly choose it for their platinum wedding band.
